Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Daniel Martin Diaz was heavily influenced by his Catholic family and Roman Catholic art. He found the New Testament stories (more specifically Revelations) the most interesting of his faith. He went to college studying primarily in music but that interest soon took him into visual art. Being self taught and such a good painter, he soon brought the attention of an Austrian artist, Philip Rubinov-Jacobson. Jacobson took interest in Diaz's paintings and took him to Austria to teach him even more.
Christus
His paintings mainly focus on the death, human suffering, and the afterlife of the Christian doctrine. His faith is reflected completely even through the frames which he crafts himself with latin text and astrological symbols. He has completed projects such as painting eight-foot murals in a church as well as decorating a performance area in a hotel both in his unique style.
